It seemed like they might finally have figured out a general strategy: Lay low, talk deficits, and cry socialism over and over again.

But like a person with a bad case of Tourette’s Syndrome, they went off message this week with a couple of major flubs that won’t help to dispel the increasingly well-earned image of their party as a bunch of racists.

First, GOP “activist” Rusty DePass tried to do a little comedy on his Facebook page when a gorilla was reported escaped from the zoo. “I’m sure it’s just one of Michelle’s ancestors – probably harmless.”

Good one. Talk about your funny stuff. Hard to believe a guy like that has to work for a living doing anything besides side-splitting stand-up.

When called out about the joke he said it was “clearly in jest”… And I’m sure that the guys at the KKK meeting thought it was hilarious.

But Hey, an isolated incident does not a trend make. I’d be out of line crying foul about one single solitary jackass.

Oh, but wait: Here in the same week Sherri Goforth, an administrative assistant to state Sen. Diane Black, R-Gallatin, has been forced to admit she sent an e-mail May 28 with the title “Historical Keepsake Photo.” The email contained a graphic that depicted all the 43 presidents, except where Obama would appear instead there were two cartoonish eyes on a black background. By way of apology Goforth said that she mistakenly sent it “to the wrong list of people.” A note on the e-mail said it was paid for by the Tennessee Republican Party, but GOP officials denied they produced it.

Well, at least they can still claim to be the party of family values. Right?

Boy, assassination plots sure aren’t what they used to be. But then again what with modern pharmacology being what it is, between the Zoloft, Effexor, and assorted other drugs on the market these days you can’t really expect people to properly fixate on delusional ideas like they used to.

Last week Daniel James Murray walked into a bank in Utah and rambled off assorted threats while trying to withdraw all the money from his bank account. “We are on a mission to kill the President of the United States,” he said along with a string of other incoherent proclamations (“We are 94 million miles from the Sun. And we are in between and sun and the moon. And the eagle that flies between them…and I know things that are going to happen…people will die.” he added to clarify things) . The bankers – perhaps out of self preservation, perhaps just being lazy – gave him his $84,000 over the course of two days of these weird visits and let his go.

Lest there be any confusion, Murray has a history of what doctors call a Schizoaffective Disorder and thinks he is a messenger for God. He was locally known as “the cape guy” for his habit of wandering around wearing a cape.

He also reportedly has a personal gun collection of eight guns. So after withdrawing all his cash, threatening to kill the President of the United States and vanishing, an APB was put out and law enforcement went into high gear looking for the guy.

Come Friday it was all over when he was arrested outside a casino in Laughlin, Nev., according to the Secret Service.

All of which raises a few questions I have yet to hear anybody ask:

How does “the cape guy” who suffers with Schizoaffective Disorder come to be the registered owner of eight firearms?

Just how freaking loony does a person have to act to get detained while they are still at the bank threatening to kill the president and trying to withdraw all their money?

Why isn’t this guy the current hero and poster child of the NRA?

Where is this supposedly heavy-handed government crack-down on individual gun rights that has driven gun sales through the roof since Obama was elected?

It seems to me that if a cape-wearing, crazy-talking Schizophrenic can somehow legally amass a collection of eight firearms, make threats against politicians at a bank while making a withdrawal (on two different days mind you) and still manage to disappear for awhile before people think to go looking for him… well, maybe this brutal socialist dictatorship where we are all prisoners of the state isn’t quite so brutal as the right wing pundits would have us believe.

Shocking videotape showing the sad death of David Carradine has surfaced on the internet and proves that David Carradine was not alone at the time of his death as was previously thought. Authorities are said to be attempting to track the source of the videotape, which surfaced on a file-sharing site late Thursday, June 11th.

Actually, this is a hoax you sick ambulance-chasing ghouls. Let the man rest in peace you fucking sickos. Are you so fucking jaded that you really want to watch the man choke to death? What is wrong with you people?

Remember those heady days before the election when all the buzz on the internet was about how Barack Obama’s birth certificate might not be real, and how he might not be an American citizen and therefore not even eligible for the presidency of the Untied States?

I do. I read more than a few conspiracy theories about the guy. Apparently his mom was a CIA asset. You didn’t know that? You’ve got to read more blogs. Don’t you know that the truth breaks first from some totally unsubstantiated non-journalist source from the middle of nowhere in cyberspace?

Well after the election proved that the GOP had indeed burned all their bridges over the last eight years there was much talk about where would the Republicans go from here. Would the party regroup, re-brand, and reemerge to take back the power they fumbled so badly?

Well the answer is here. The re-tooled GOP unveiled itself today for everybody to get their first peek at their new direction. Turns out they are the party of crazy old neo-nazi terrorists.

88 year old James von Brunn stormed into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. today and shot and killed a guard before he was wounded and subdued.

Some of his “writings” and philosophy are excerpted from the CNN article below:

“Bit by bit Liberalism ascended. Bit by bit the Constitution was re-interpreted. Bit by bit government institutions and Congressmen fell into JEW hands –then U.S. diplomacy, businesses, resources and manpower came under JEW control,” one such message reads. “Whitemen sat on their collective asses and did NOTHING — NOTHING BUT TALK.”

More recently, messages attributed to von Brunn question the authenticity of President Obama’s birth certificate, the subject of numerous conspiracy theories. Advocates of those theories imply that Obama was born overseas and therefore would be constitutionally ineligible to hold office.
